Berton College offers one of the most successful IELTS programs in Vancouver, and has resulted in numerous Band of 6.5, 7, 7.5 and occasionally higher, which means success in university acceptance for those students. Our unique curriculum consists of individualized lessons on many strategies and skills that are the foundations of IELTS, such as Grammar, Active and Passive Vocabulary required for all the skills, Listening and Reading Skills, Task 1 and Task 2 Writing Skills, and Interview Practice.
The lessons are specifically designed for the needs of different levels based on our initial placement testing and teacher assessments and they will be geared towards individual student’s speed of progress. There are also many study skill strategies that are integrated in every lesson plan, assisting students in improving their overall English as well as their IELTS score, which heavily focuses on improving the students’ general English proficiency level.
All in all, IELTS is inevitably a demanding test which assesses many different English skills, and we at Berton College can help you take the challenge and build the foundations for your future endeavors, since almost all Canadian universities need at least a band 6.5 to accept international students and those whose have not studied in Canada for four consecutive years for university applications.
It is worth mentioning that if students commit to this program and enroll in our IELTS program at Berton, there are criteria and standards that need to be followed if the students need rapid improvement of their band. According to British Council, students need to intensively work on their IELTS-related English skills along with General English , which has been proved over and over to help students achieve their goal and unless a student is already advanced in English Proficiency and only needs our program for tips, the minimum length of our IELTS term needs to be at least 3 months and about 10 hours a week, along with at least an hours of at home, daily vocabulary review and writing assignments, not to mention maintaining constant exposure to English as much as possible for the purpose of improving speaking and listening . Our Experienced IELTS teacher, Bea, has been working on this program for many years both in China and Canada, and her curriculum and strategy have proved to be hugely successful in helping those students of ours who were ready to work hard for the purpose of entering top Canadian universities.
